Tower Mount Amplifier
The Tower Mount Amplifier (TMA) is designed to expand signal coverage through enhancing the uplink receiving sensitivity in the area where call drops and handoff failures happen frequently.
It is installed on the top of telecommunication tower and below the BTS antenna to amplify the mobile signal via a low-noise amplifier before the signal is transmitted to the BTS.
As per the working method, we have three options of TMA:
Simplex TMA:
only amplify uplink signal and no pass through for downlink signal;
Duplex TMA:
only amplify uplink signal and downlink signal can directly pass through;
Bi-Directional TMA:
amplify both uplink and downlink signal.
